** IMPORTANT MESSAGE – PLEASE SHARE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN **
Never before in history has the risk of being hit by a business-debilitating virus been higher.
LOCKY arrives on an email that might say “Payment confirmation”, “CV Attached”, “Invoice”, “Invoice overdue” (and a lot more different ones) and most importantly be from a legitimate looking email address – but most likely from a person you don’t know. It’s tempting to open as it looks real, and important.
Just don’t open it. If you do, you won’t notice anything apart from a probable error message.
Your PC however will then be working silently in the background locking every document, spreadsheet, and picture it can find on your network. You won’t know about it until you go to open a file somewhere. It won’t just affect you, it will affect everyone in the business.
** Don’t be THAT person who mistakenly brings the business to it’s knees **
Apply these simple rules;
- If you don’t know who it is:
- If you’re not expecting a bill/invoice/payment:
- If you have any suspicions at all:
DON’T OPEN IT!
If you’re unsure, you can always call Interwebi to find out. Don’t take the chance! If something is real and you miss it, the worst that can happen is you’ll get a call from someone to ask why.
